Every december 12 almost all the country celebrates the day when Virgin Mary apears to a aztec indian, 16 century. This tale is in the deepest memory of the mexicans. Some say that tGuadalupe is the same as the old goddest Tonatzin. Anyway, the symbolical meaning is the birth of Mexico as a own nation, a mixture of Spanish conquerors and Indian cultures.
