Old house
This is an old hose made from adobe (not baken bricks) that I found at Zapotlanejo. I tried to imagine how it was to live like this... well when it ws new, surrounded by nature. Pretty cool uh??

Reloaded!!
Too much sun can sometimes destroy a good pic, but in this case, I think it helped to create a new version of the Zapopan arches (seen from the back). Oh and the sky, this is real, I like to much this effect!!

Cooking
They are studens of Tourism in Universidad de Guadalajara, and among their duties they must learn how to manage a kitchen and how to cook. At the end of the day they are just relaxing and taking the sun.

Flower Seller
This woman here is selling flowers, as you can see, but these are not for ornament, you can eat them. Squash flowers or Flores de calabaza, ancient food in Mexico, before Colombus.

LLT
LLT was the name of a 90's Techno band from Mexico City and the meaning was "Los Legendarios Tlaconetes", It may be translated as "The Legendary Snails". In Guadalajara is rare to call this animals Tlaconetes, it is a Nahuatl word but I am not sure about the meaning. The name is more used in the south and the center of Mexico. Here they are called "Caracoles" and are very commun in rain season.

Gasoline, please!!
This is how old gas bombs used to be in Mexico (these are some of the new ones, I was not permited to photograh them). But now this one had become in a… ehm… a… something to put things on :) and including a “fishbowl” on the inside.
PEMEX (Petroleos Mexicanos) is the only company allowed to manage Mexico's black gold. And may I add that we have soooo much to talk about it!!

Agave... tequila!!
This weekend I went toZapotlanejo , and on my way to the country side of this town (like 1 hour away from GDL) I was able to catch this image of agave plants (from where tequila is obtained). This is on a very old way, into a ranch, hence the pile of rocks tham makes the fence.

New Arch for the not so new millenium
Well, in a previous post Liz talk about the Millenium arches, so in a certain way you are already familiarized with them and about they should be finished by the year 2000 but the money was finished and the sculture was incompleted. This year more resources came and a 4 arch is being build, but still the piece is incompleted. Do you want to donate some money?

Learning to live
Street children is a very common (and sad) problem in Mexico. I think is really hard for them to learn to live such a hard life from a very young age.
I don’t think this class of “education” is available from books, but I least I’m glad this cute boy was looking forward to find a new world from his reading.

Casttle Building
This is an old house close to the U.S. consulate. The area is known in Guadalajara as "Colonia Americana" and it is famous because the sourronded architecture, mainly modernism. Also the zone has several coffee shops usually full of students, artists and, mmm, well snobs. If somebody is wondering about, yes there are also a starbucks close to the area.
